Are you knowledgeable in chemistry, have laboratory experience, and are interested in the process industry? Are you also flexible, stress-resistant, and able to juggle multiple tasks? Then you should apply for this position! We are currently looking for a QC Laboratory Technician for our facility in Örnsköldsvik.

About the job

As a Laboratory Technician, you will work closely with our quality control team at the Quality Control Laboratory, QC Laboratory, and you will have the opportunity to work on many varied tasks. The team consists of five Laboratory Technicians, one Laboratory Engineer, and one Laboratory Manager. You need to be flexible, stress-resistant, and able to handle multiple tasks at once. The QC Laboratory must comply with legal requirements and regulations as well as the recommendations within ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.

The QC lab is divided into five departments: two departments for quality control, two departments for environmental analysis, and one department for bioremediation analysis. The staff's schedule is designed so that they rotate and work one week in each department, which means that the work is very varied. Safety is fundamental at Nouryon and an obvious part of our work at the QC laboratory. The laboratory works with both internal and external customers. Working hours are during the day.

In your future role as QC Laboratory Technician, you will

  • Perform quality controls on samples, deliveries, and raw materials.
  • Conduct environmental and noise measurements and document analysis data.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and check laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in method development, audits, and other laboratory tasks.

We focus on achieving high safety and quality in all aspects where work within Health, Safety, and Environment is a prerequisite. Additional tasks included in the role are to participate in root cause analyses, help develop and document standardized working methods, and engage in improvement work by participating in rounds and risk analyses. You will also participate in internal control meetings and weekly meetings and initiate and write reports on environmental deviations and incidents.

We expect you to have

  • Completed secondary education, a 3-year technical or scientific background, preferably within process industry & chemistry.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written form.

It’s a plus if you have

  • Experience from laboratory work is highly meritorious.
  • Experience with gas chromatography is meritorious.

Who you are?

To be successful in this role, collaboration skills and a holistic perspective are required to act proactively. We are looking for someone who is structured, meticulous, has teamwork skills, is flexible (adaptable and handles stress), as the operation has high-quality demands.

You are positive, open, creative, proactive, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are thorough and organized. Being able to work both independently and in a team is important, as is having a customer-focused attitude, since the QC laboratory has both external and internal customers.

We offer you

At Nouryon, we offer not only an exciting role and friendly colleagues but also benefits beyond your salary. Nouryon has a collective agreement with IF Metall, but in addition, we also offer benefits such as bonuses, reduced working hours, wellness grants, meal benefits, and much more.

Have we caught your interest? This is a full-time temporary position from August 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension, based in Örnsköldsvik. You will report to Kristina Sundlöf, lab manager.
